Why We Built This Site
Idaho does not place every criminal record in one public database. The Shoshone County Sheriff keeps local incident and custody material. Magistrate and District Court staff maintain charges, filings, hearings, and outcomes. The Idaho State Police Bureau of Criminal Identification holds fingerprint-supported statewide histories, while IDOC and the Idaho Sex Offender Registry answer different questions. The site brings the verified contacts, request paths, search controls, and fee details for those custodians into a single local reference.
What You Will Find Here
- Record guides: how criminal court case records are searched and read in Shoshone County
- Official check walkthroughs: how name-based and fingerprint background checks work through the Idaho State Police Bureau of Criminal Identification repository
- Agency contacts: where to reach the sheriff's records unit, the criminal courts, and the statewide systems that hold Shoshone County records
- Record-relief context: how Idaho distinguishes BCI expungement from Clean Slate shielding and court-file access
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Idaho court, sheriff's office, police department, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing agency - the sheriff, the court, or the Idaho State Police Bureau of Criminal Identification - can provide an official copy of a criminal record. We can point you to the right office, but the document has to come from them.
Search Partners
Third-party providers operate the search boxes shown on some pages. Their prices, result sets, and service terms are their own. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral payment that supports site operation. The provider, not Shoshone County Criminal History, controls the query and its output.
